by August Wilhelm Schlegel (1767 - 1845)

Bange nicht der Thränen willen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Bange nicht der Thränen willen,
Die in Strömen mir entquillen,
Die ich nicht zu hemmen weiß.
Nächtlich um den Busen starrte
Und umsonst auf Sonne harrte
Aufgebirgt des Grames Eis.

Deiner Blicke trautes Lächeln,
Deiner Worte lindes Fächeln
Strahlte, hauchte mir ins Herz.
Himmelskind! da sind die stolzen
Felsen willig hingeschmolzen,
Ist gelöst der alte Schmerz.

Und wie Thau und Regen fließen,
Fühl' ich frische Blume sprießen
Tief aus sehnendem Gemüth,
Und ich weihe dir zu Kränzen
Allen Schmuck des neuen Lenzen,
Der in meiner Seele blüht.
