by Gabriele D'Annunzio (1863 - 1938)

Rose
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Ella tremando venne
alfin dove a me piacque.
Che mai dicevan l'acque
ne'l silenzio solenne?

Palpitavan le stelle
ne la conca profonda;
come fiori, più belle
splendeano in tra la fronda.

Parevano i roseti
ne l'ombra alte compagi
di neve: in loro ambagi
avean cari segreti.

Ella con le due braccia
il mio collo ricinse,
e mi porse la faccia,
e tutta a me s'avvinse.

Con sì lungo piacere
io la baciai d'amore
che parvemi nel core
tutte le rose avere.

Ben or, se l'aulorose
labbra onde il miel trabocca
bacio, sapor di rose
mi si diffonde in bocca.
