by Katri Vala (1901 - 1944)
Translation Singable translation by Yrjö Henrik Kilpinen (1892 - 1959)

Myrsky
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Tuulen laulu ulkona
soi myrskyä ja kuolemaa,
valittaa ranta harmaja.
Ah, armas, mua peloittaa
sun silmäs myrskyntummat,
kuin lieska veres leimuaa.
Mua suojele!

Soi huuto luona kaislojen.
Lie lintu yöhön eksynyt,
mi etsii parveansa.
Niin sieluasi etsin nyt,
sen tahdon,
tuulen huminassa sitä suutelen!

Stormen
Language: Swedish (Svenska)  after the Finnish (Suomi)
Vindens sång hörs utanför
om storm och döden sjunger,
klagande stå strandens träd.
O, kära, jag är rädd för dina ögons
vilda stormar,
som lågor flammar blicken din.
O, skydda mig!

Ett rop hörs ifrån vassen.
En fågel har väl vilse gått
och söker nu sitt näste.
Så söker jag nu din själ,
den äga jag vill,
stormen viker och jag kysser den.
