Dolce amor di Povertade
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Dolce amor di Povertade,
quanto ti degiamo amare!

Povertade poverella
Umiltade è tua sorella:
ben ti basta una scudella
et al bere et al mangiare.

Pavertade questo vole
pan et acqua et erbe sole.

Povertà batte alla porta,
e non ha sacca né borsa;
nulla cosa seco porta,
se non quanto ha da mangiare.

Povertade non ha letto,
non ha casa, c'haggia tetto;
non mantile ha pur né desco,
siede in terra a manducare.

Povertade muore in pace,
nullo testamento face;
né parenti né cognate
non si senton litigare.

Povertade amor giocondo,
che disprezza tutto il mondo;
nullo amico le va 'ntorno
per aver ereditade.

Povertà fai l'huom perfetto,
vivi sempre con diletto.

Povertade va leggera;
vive alegra e non altera;
è per tutto forastera;
nulla cosa vuol portare.
