Soient du plus doux aveu le présage flatteur.

Près de toi toute la nature
Forme un concert harmonieux,
L'onde en fuyant plus doucement murmure
Et le chant des oiseaux est plus méelodieux.

Que j'aime alors sous le feuillage
Reposant au déclin du jour
À confier aux échos du rivage
Des accents inspirés par le plus tendre amour.

Quand la lumière fugitive
Dore encor le sommet des bois
Oh! ma Délie, à ma harpe plaintive,
