Canto della Neve

Chi colla neve solazzar si vuole,
si faccia al balcon fuora;
chè s'ell'è si bell'ora,
forse doman l'avrà distrutta il sole.
La neve,
donne,
dà di sè vaghezza,
ma poco tempo dura ch'al paragon di lei,
vostra bellezza fece proprio natura:
perché chi rettamente in lei pon cura
la vede men dura che neve al sole.
Or ch'egli è 'l tempo,
donne, egli erra assai colui che'l tempo aspetta,
benchè tal giuoco non occorre mai farlo con troppa fretta:
chè chi riceve mal.
quando l'uom getta,
spesso invan dell' error si pente e duole.
Orsù,
donne,
al balcon fatevi avanti,
gittate e ricevete;
perché di questo i vostri cari amanti contenti esser vedrete,
e se'nsieme al gittar rincontrerete,
più bel colpo di quel far non si suole.
Di gentilezza e di galanteria alla neve giuochiamo;
ma per non la straziar nè gittar via,
a fante non ne diamo:
chè chilcon lor s'affronta
ognor veggiamo,
che di lor bestial'atti alfin si duole.
