Drüben überm Berge, 
wo die späten Glocken gehn, 
weiß ich eine grosse Stadt 
und ein kleines Haus drin stehn. 
Drüben überm Berge und 
im Staub der großen Stadt 
weiß ich einen süßen Mund, 
der mein Herz vergiftet hat. 

Drüben überm Berge, 
wo das lichte Leben wohnt, 
liegt die Welt und liegt mein Glück 
blind und fern im bleichen Mond. 
Drüben überm Berge, 
wo die späten Glocken gehn, 
muß ich jede Nacht im Traum 
vor dem kleinen Hause stehn.
