Ed ora 
che tanto siamo stanchi di odiare,
fermiamoci, o fratelli,
al limite del nostro nulla.

Ed ascoltiamo le voci
rinascenti dal nostro profondo,
le voci 
che non mai ci hanno abbandonato,
e che per lunga via
hanno animato di sogni
le notti della nostra avventura 
parlandoci d'infanzie lontane.

Noi 	
abbiamo tentato soffocarle
per potere più liberamente
odiarci.

Ma dal sangue
dell'inutile sacrificio
sono sempre rifiorite
queste voci.

Sostiamo, o fratelli, 
con il nostro peso di dolore;
ed ascoltiamole
nel nostro disperato silenzio.

Sarà come	
se udissimo per la prima volta
le voci di sempre.

E forse 
saremo ancora in tempo
a poter scrivere insieme 
le pagine d'amore
di un ultimo vangelo.

Ja nyt
kun olemme näin väsyneitä vihaamaan,
pysytelkäämme, veljet
oman mitättömyytemme rajoissa.

Ja kuunnelkaamme ääniä
jotka uudelleen ovat syntyneet sisimmässämme,
niitä ääniä,
jotka eivät koskaan kokonaan hyljänneet meitä,
ja jotka pitkälle matkallamme
ovat elävöittäneet unia
seikkailuittemme öinä
kertoen meille kaukaisesta lapsuudestamme.

Me
olemme yrittäneet tukahduttaa ne
voidaksemme vapaammin
vihata toisiamme.

Mutta verestä,
joka näin turhaan uhrattiin,
ovat aina uudelleen puhjennet kukkaan
nämä äänet.

Levähtäkäämme, oi veljet,
tuskan taakkamme alla;
ja kuunnelkaamme
niitä toivottamassa hiljaisuudessamme.

Silloin tuntuu siltä, kuin
