by Domenico di Giovanni (1404 - 1449), as Burchiello

Cacio stillato
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Cacio stillato e olio pagonazzo,
e un magnaio che vende brace nera
andaro jermattina presso a sera
a fare un grande ochò a un moliazzo.
Le chiocciole ne feron gran rombazzo,
però che v'eran gente di scarriera,
che non volean render fava nera,
perchè 'l Risciacquatojo facea gran guazzo.
Allor si mosse una Bertuccia in zoccoli
per far colpi di lancia con Achille,
gridando forte, "Spegnete quei moccoli."
E io ne vidi accender più di mille,
e far grand' apparecchio agli anitroccoli,
perchè i ranocchi volcan dir le squille:
e poi vidi le Anguille far cose,
ch'io non se dir mel debbia?
Pur lo dirò: elle 'mbottavan nebbia.
