L'amour aux étoiles

Comme la rose thé sa joue est délicate,
Et des cheveux châtains couronnent son front pur;
Le ciel dans ses regards fait luire son azur 
Sous les miroitements irisés de l'agate.

La dentelle aux plis noirs voile sa pâleur mate :
Telle paraît Phœbé sous le nuage obscur ;
Mais soudain un rayon, comme un trait vif et sûr,
Pour atteindre mon cœur sous les franges éclate.

A son balcon penchée, elle rêve, et parfois 
Elle mêle un soupir aux murmures des bois,
Et, dans l'ombre perdu, je l'écoute et je tremble.

Je ne crains rien, le jour, quand nous sommes ensemble ; 
Mais, quand je la surprends rêveuse ainsi, la nuit,
Je crois que son amour aux étoiles s'enfuit.
