Der Abendstern blinkt durch die Zweige,
es schwimmt der Wald in blauem Duft,
die allerletzte Drossel flötet,
so weich und milde ist die Luft.
 
Die gelben  Hasenkätzchen  zittern
im Abendwinde hin und her,
ich träume in den Frühlingsabend
und meine Brust seufzt tief und schwer.
 
Es ist ein Seufzer voller Sehnsucht,
halb ist es Leid,  halb ist es Lust,
auch du denkst meiner diese Stunde,
schwer hebt sich jetzt auch deine Brust.

ilma on niin pehmeää ja leutoa.
 
Keltaiset pajunkissat huojuvat
iltatuulessa edestakaisin,
minä unelmoin kevätillassa
ja rintani huokaa syvään ja raskaasti
 
Se huokaus on täynnä kaipausta,
puoliksi tuskaa, puoliksi riemua,
sinäkin ajattelet minua tällä hetkellä,
raskaasti kohoilee nyt sinunkin rintasi.
