muß ich immer wieder gehen.  
 
Wo die roten Rosen blühen, 
hab’ ich sie zuerst geküßt; 
wo die roten Rosen blühen, 
meine liebste Weide ist.  
 
Wo die grünen Büsche stehen, 
singt ein Vogel dies und das; 
wo die grünen Büsche stehen, 
ist zerdrückt das junge Gras.  
 
Wo die klaren Quellen rauschen, 
liegt ein Rosenkränzelein; 
wo die klaren Quellen rauschen, 
ward das schönste Mädchen mein.

siellä asuu kultani, ja hän on ihana;
missä valkoiset kyyhkyt lentävät,
sinne minun täytyy taas päästä.
 
Missä punaiset ruusut kukkivat,
siellä suutelin häntä ensimmäisen kerran,
missä punaiset ruusut kukkivat,
siellä on rakkain laidunmaani.
 
Missä vihreät pensaat seisovat,
siellä laulaa lintunen kaikenlaista;
missä vihreät pensaat seisovat,
siellä on nuori ruoho tallaantunut.
 
Missä kirkkaat lähteet solisevat,
siellä on pieni ruususeppele;
missä kirkkaat lähteet solisevat, siellä sain 
kaikkein ihanimman tytön omakseni.
