Wiegenlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Vögel schweigen, Blumen träumen,
Und die Quellen schlafen ein;
Blätter säuseln in den Bäumen,
[Zittern vor der Sonne Schein]1.
Doch es küßt sie still der Wind:
Küss' mir auch mein schlummernd Kind!

Wangenröthe, leises Lächeln
Fliegt durch's kleine Angesicht;
Sanfte Kühlung sollst du fächeln,
Aber stürmen darfst du nicht.
Athme leise, loser Wind,
Wecke nicht mein liebe Kind!

Wer es wüßte, wer es schaute,
Was das Kind still lächelnd träumt,
Wer sie deuten könnt', die Laute,
Die es noch zu sagen säumt!
Kennst wohl du sie, sanfter Wind?
Kose still mit meinem Kind!
