by Ernest Chebroux (1840 - 1910)

Mon cœur a rêvé
Language: French (Français)
Au pays où l'on chante,
Dans la saison touchante
Où tout est volupté,
Comme l'humble fauvette
Qui dit son ariette,
    Mon cœur a chanté.

Au pays où l'on rêve,
Sur le beau lac sans grève
Où l'on va captivé,
Grisé par les mensonges
Dont nous bercent les songes,
    Mon cœur a rêvé.

Au pays où l'on pleure,
Quand, pour chacun, vient l'heure
D'être désespéré,
Sur les tombes fermées,
Pleines d'âmes aimées,
    Mon cœur a pleuré !

Au pays où l'on aime
J'ai chanté le poème
De la félicité ;
Plus heureux que Joconde,
Car aux pieds d'une blonde,
    Mon cœur est resté !
