by Léon Duringer (1862 - 1918), as Léon Durocher

Par les prés
Language: French (Français)
    M'en allant par le pré,
    Un matin rencontrai
    Une fillette en larmes...
« Belle enfant, avec de tels charmes,
Peux-tu bien abreuver le vent
        De tes larmes ?... »

    Tandis que lui parlais,
    D'épis blonds, d'oiselets
    Et d'amoureux zéphirs,
Dans ses yeux soudain sembla luire
Un rayon échappé des cieux,
        Un sourire.

    De nos tendres émois
    Fut témoin quatre mois
    Le clocher du village.
Mais Dieu fit la femme volage,
Et Rosette un beaujour s'enfuit
        Du village.

    Par les prés miroitants
    Sans souci du printemps,
M'en vais seul à cette heure.
Clairs buissons que la brise effleure,
Je n'écoute plus vos chansons !
        Car je pleure !
