by Carl Alexander Simon (1805 - 1852), as Carl Alexander

Leichter Sinn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Über Gebirg' und Tal
leuchtet der Sonne Strahl!
Zieh ich hinauf nach Morvens Höh'n,
zieh ich hinab nach Welschlands Seen:
Leichter Sinn nie ermüd't!
Leichter Sinn mit mir zieht!

Liebchen, leb' wohl, mein Kind,
flüchtig ist Lieb' und Wind;
ob ich auch nimmer umarme dich,
ob du auch nimmer denkst an mich:
Leichter Sinn nie ermüd't!
Leichter Sinn mit mir zieht!

Rot ist der Traube Blut,
kühl ist der Quelle Flut.
Schöpf' ich aus Gold, aus hohler Hand,
zieh' ich durch Garten, durch dürren Sand:
Leichter Sinn nie ermüd't!
Leichter Sinn mit mir zieht!

Note: the first stanza of Alexander Cosmar's text seems to resemble this quite closely.
