by Christian Friedrich Daniel Schubart (1739 - 1791)

Mutterherz
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mutterherz, o Mutterherz!
Ach! wer senkte diese Regung,
Die flutende Bewegung,
Die Wonne, diesen Schmerz,
Süß und schauervoll in dich:

Gott, der Herzenbilder,
Sprach zur roten Flut
In den Adern: Milder
Fließe, still und gut!
Und da strömten Flammen
Alle himmelwärts
In der Brust zusammen -
Und es ward ein Mutterherz.

Mutterherz, o Mutterherz!
Diese liebevolle Regung,
Diese flutende Bewegung,
Diese Wonne, diesen Schmerz,
Senkt' ein Gott, ein Gott in dich!
