Dort wo der Mond am Himmel steht

O Glanz der silbernen Täle
wie macht das Herz du weh und wund
Ich möchte vergeh'n in Sehnen 
nach meiner fernen Heimat

O warum zog ich junger Tor
zu diesen blühenden Ländern aus?
nun bin ich müd und ist mir bang
dahin, wo stille Nebel über die Felder geh'n
