Naar ho renn, so da brenn og da brile,
dan soli dar burte i aust,
Då sprett eg ut or sengi so kvik og so gla,
Daa er dan fyrste tanken eg i hugen monne ha:
At du, ja at du er kjærasten min!
At eg, ja at eg er kjærasten din!

Gud signe no deg, du kjærasten min,

Naar um kvelden seg solauga skunda se aa blunda
der vest uti sjo,
På dan ti, daa i li og lunda da seg tagna mot notti te ro
Daa gjeng eg meg aa kvile so trøyt, men so gla,
Daa er dan seinste tanken eg i hugen munne ha:
