An die Nacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das arme Herz voll Kummer
wiegst du in leisem Schlummer
durch deine sanfte Macht;
du senkst ins Herz des Müden
den einzig wahren Frieden,
freundliche Nacht!

Du hast die Schar der Sterne
in ungemess'ner Ferne
mir vor den Blick gebracht;
welch wunderbares Ahnen,
an was willst du mich mahnen,
heilige Nacht?

Ich hab' den ganzen Morgen
durch Drängen, Treiben, Sorgen
doch nur an sie gedacht;
o lass in Traumesweben
ihr Bild mich hold umschweben,
liebliche Nacht!
