by Carl Siebel (1836 - 1868)

Ich konnt' es so gut verstehen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich konnt' es so gut [verstehen]1,
dass die Sonne nie scheiden geht,
ohn' dass sie "Auf [Wiedersehen]2!"
für die Menschen herniederfleht.

Zu [Wiedersehen]2 am Morgen
steigt auf sie am ewigen Zelt,
und vor ihr fliehen die Sorgen,
die [Leiden]3 der [dunkelen]4 Welt.

[Ich hab' auf ihn gebauet,
den nie die Liebe mied,]5
auf Wiederseh'n getrauet,
so oft er von mir schied.

Geht nun die Sonne zu scheiden,
so wird das Herz mir schwer;
ich [wollt' in meinen]6 Leiden,
die [Sonne wär']7 untreu wie er!
