by Oscar II, King of Sweden (1829 - 1907)
Translation by Emil Jacob Jonas (1824 - 1912)

Abgesang
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Swedish (Svenska)
Glocken hallen Lobgesänge,
steigen auf der Orgel Klänge,
einen sich zum Bund;
Lind'rung wird den Seelenqualen,
durch des Glaubens Flammenstrahlen
wird das Herz gesund.

Hoffnung lauscht dem Ton entzücket
und die Fessel, die uns drücket,
milde löst er sie.
Schönheit klärt des Beters Klagen,
um empor zu Gott zu tragen
ew'ge, ew'ge Harmonie.
