by Franz Ferdinand, Freiherr von Dingelstedt (1814 - 1881)

Dichterwünsche
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du Sommerwolke droben,
aus Licht und Duft gewoben,
weißt du, wohin du ziehst?
Wo du dich niedersetzest,
welch fernes Tal du letzest,
in welches Meer du fliehst?

Du Schmetterling hier unten
mit deinem farbenbunten
Geschmeide, sprich zur Stell',
wohin du treibst und eilest,
in welchem Kelch verweilest,
du leckerer Gesell!

Ihr schweigt? Ihr flattert weiter?
O luftige Begleiter,
wie freut mich euer Sinn!
Gern zög' ich, euch zur Seite,
so leicht wie ihr ins Weite,
doch nicht so stumm dahin!

Confirmed with Gedichte von Franz Dingelstedt, 2. Aufl. Stuttgart und Augsburg, 1858.
