Malerfreude

Äcker tragen Korn und kosten Geld,
Wiesen sind von Stacheldraht umlauert,
Notdurft sind und Habsucht aufgestellt,
Alles scheint verdorben und vermauert.

Aber hier in meinem Auge wohnt
Eine andre Ordnung aller Dinge,
Violett zerfließt und Purpur thront
Deren unschuldvolles Lied ich singe.

Gelb zu Gelb, und Gelb zu Rot gesellt,
Kühle Bläuen rosig angeflogen!
Licht und Farbe schwingt von Welt zu Welt,
Wölbt und tönt sich aus in Liebeswogen.

Geist regiert, der alles Kranke heilt,
Grün klingt auf aus neugeborener Quelle,
Neu und sinnvoll wird die Welt verteilt,
Und im Herzen wird es froh und helle.

La joia d’un pintor

Els camps produeixen blat i costen diners,
els prats estan encerclats amb filferro espinós,
la indigència i la cobdícia s’hi ha instal•lat,
tot sembla corromput i tapiat.

Però aquí, als meus ulls, hi ha
un altre ordre de totes les coses,
la cançó innocent del qual jo canto
es fon en color violeta i regna en color porpra.

El groc amb el groc, i el groc amb el vermell s’ajunten,
els blaus freds amb un toc de rosa!
La llum i el color es mouen d’un món a l’altre,
s’encorben i s’acoloreixen en un oneig d’amor. 

Regna l’esperit, el que guareix tots els malalts,
la verdor ressona des d’una font acabada de néixer,
el món s’escampa de forma nova i assenyada,
i als nostres cors tot s’esdevé joiós i clar.
