by Christian Richardt (1831 - 1892)

Til Solen
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Vær hilset høie Sommersol,
Du stærke, rige, milde!
Nu knæle for din Kongestol
De Vinterstorme vilde!
Sneekongens blanke Brynje brast,
Ham ramte dine Landsekast,
Den hvide Flok blev bange:
Saa Fuglen i den grønne Lund,
Og Bølgen fra det dybe Sund
Kan sjunge Seierssange.

Ja hilset være Du, hvis Arm
Strøer Guld til alle Sider,
Saatidt din kongelige Karm
Mod Vesterhvalvet glider;
Hvad Verden kalder slet og godt,
Hvad Verden kalder stort og smaat,
Vil Drotten ikke dømme:
Men Fiskerbaad og Kongestad
Og Rosenbusk og Neldeblad
Faae lige gyldne Sømme!

Confirmed with Chr. Richardt, Smaadigte, Gyldendalske Boghandling, Kbh., 1861, pages 82–83.
