by Georg Scheurlin (1802 - 1872)

Am Bach
Language: German (Deutsch)
Am Erlenbach im Waldesgrung
hab' ich geruht eine [süße]1 Stund'.
Zu Haupt mir rauschte der alte Baum,
der wehte herab gar schönen Traum.

Es war noch die alte, [liebe]2 Zeit,
mein Herz schlug selig an deiner Seit',
du warst mein eigen, [du warst]3 mir gut,
wir haben uns Arm in Arm geruht;

bis [früh]4, im dunklen Laub versteckt,
die Vöglein [schelmisch mich]5 aufgeweckt:
Sie wussten wohl, dass alles vorbei,
mein Glück, deine Lieb' und deine Treu'!
