Ces roses, humides de rosée, ce serpollet touffu,
sont offrandes aux Déesses d'Hélicon ;
ces lauriers aux feuilles sombres te sont dédiés, 
ô Pythien Paean, car c'est pour te parer 
que le rocher de Delphes les a produits ; et ce bouc cornu qui broute 
pour la dernière fois un rameau de térébinthe,
rougira l'autel de L'Hélicon son sang.
