by Georg Christian Dieffenbach (1822 - 1901)

Die Lerche
Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf zum Himmel steigt die Lerche
Singt ein Lied aus voller Brust;
Schmetternd klingt es durch die Lüfte
Und verkündet Freud und Lust!

Gott zur Ehre singt die Lerche,
Lobet ihn mit Jubelschall,
Und verkündet seine Liebe
Im Gesange überall.

Gott zu lieben, Gott zu loben,
Sei auch deine Freud und Lust.
Gott zu ehren wie die Lerche,
Sing auch du aus voller Brust!
