Abendsegen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Das ist des Abends Segen
und seine stille Tat,
daß Sturm und Kampf sich legen,
wenn seine feuchten Schwingen
hinschatten übern Pfad.

Das hat er vor dem Tage,
daß er des Herzens Drang,
daß Sorgen er und Plage
besänftig still mit mildem,
mit süßem Schlafgesang.-

Daß er mit dichtem Schleier
des Landmanns Pflug umhüllt,
mit stiller Dankesfeier
die Hütten und die Herzen
allüberall erfüllt.
