Gläubig der Stürme leztem Gebraus! 
Locken die Knospen kann auch der Schnee,
Freudigen Schwingen thut er nicht weh!

  Mach's wie die Lerche, fürchte dich nicht, 
Hoch ob den Wolken grüße das Licht! 
Laß dir nicht grauen, droben schon blaut 
Lächelnd der Himmel, sie hat's geschaut! 

  Mach's wie die Lerche, schwing dich empor, 
Ehe die Blüthen brechen hervor!
Juble nur weiter, bald ist's zu spät,
Wenn vor dem Schimmer das Jauchzen verweht!
