Die klare koele watertjes, die beekjes in dat woud
die zingen maar den gansen dag die zingen menigvoud
Dat tuist al hier al daar het suist melodisch ondereen
dat klatert murmelzingt en schalt en zwijgen doet er geen
In ‘t overheerlijk zomerwoud glijdt menig stroompje voort
dat weet van zingen en zegt op eigen wijs  zijn woord
