Erblaßt sind rings die Höhn. Da glühn sie jäh und blicken noch ein Mal So schön, so schön Hinab in's tiefe Thal. Doch war's der letzte Strahl, Und bald mit Macht Legt sich auf Thal und Höhn die finstre Nacht. Und nimmer wird es licht, Eh neues Frühroth wieder lacht von fern. Doch mild durchbricht Das Dunkel Stern an Stern: O! freudig auf den Herrn Harr' auch im Tod, Bis hell dir strahlt das ewge Morgenroth!
