from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Wie es in der Mühle aussieht
Language: German (Deutsch)
  Eins, zwei, drei,
  Bicke, backe, hei!
  Bicke, backe, Pfefferkorn,
  Der Müller hat seine Frau verlor'n;
  Hat sie nimmer g'funden.
  Glaub', sie ist verschwunden.

Wie sieht's nun in der Mühle aus? --
Da schauen d' Mäus' zum Fenster 'naus,
Der Storch, der kocht die Suppen;
Die Katzen fegen d' Stuben aus,
Die Ratzen tragen Kehricht 'naus,
Der Hund, der schlägt die Trommel.

Sitzt ein Männlein unter'm Dach,
Hat sich halb zu Tod' gelacht.
