Da hellet das Dunkel ein silberner Schein --
  Sternelein, Sternelein,
Willst du mir zeigen die hohe Bahn
  Himmelan?
[Oder geleitest noch zur Qual]3 
Du mich heim ins enge, traute, 
Und ach! so geliebte Erdenthal?
Das sagt mir dein Schein:
Wie es komme, mein Hoffnungsstern
