by Ludwig I, König von Bayern (1786 - 1868)

An die Liebende
Language: German (Deutsch)
Rastlos getrieben,
immer zu lieben,
nie aus dem Himmel kehrend zurück,
freudiges Schweben,
seliges Leben,
dies ist meine Sehnen, dies ist mein Glück.

Ferne der Erde,
schon ein Gefährte,
seliger Geister, beseligt zu seyn;
glühend zu fühlen,
nie zu erkühlen,
leben und lieben in ew'gem Verein.

Stürmen die Wogen,
wölbet ein Bogen
sich von der Erde zum Himmel hinauf:
dieser ist offen
unserem Hoffen, nimmt die Liebenden liebevoll auf.
