Die ich floh, die ich so oft verflucht,
Die mich dennoch immer hat gesucht,
Endlich werf ich mich an deine Brust!

Nimm mich hin, furchtbare Mutter Nacht,
Todeswollust ists, dich zu umarmen,
Heimlich aus dem heißen Abgrund lacht
Ahnung von Erlösung, von Erbarmen.
Tief in deinen schwarzen Augen brennt
Deiner düstern Liebe Glut so wehe,
Deiner Liebe, die mich ganz erkennt,
Deren Todesruf ich ganz verstehe.
Willig folg ich dir durch Blut und Angst,

la que malgrat tot sempre m’ha cercat,
finalment em llanço al teu pit!

Pren-me, terrible Mare Nit,
delectança de mort és abraçar-te,
secretament, de l’ardent abisme somriu
un averany de salvació, de misericòrdia.
Al fons dels teus negres ulls crema
tan dolorosament la flama del teu tenebrós amor,
el teu amor que del tot em reconeix,
la crida de mort del qual entenc perfectament.
De grat et segueixo per la sang i la basarda,
sento com tu em reclames
