by Fanny (Franziska) von Hoffnaaß, née Jägerhuber (1831 - 1892)

Amalie
Language: German (Deutsch)
Allabendlich, wenn es dunkelt
Im heimisch stillen Gemach,
Seh ich einen Stern, der funkelt
Hoch über des Nachbars Dach.

So traulich ist mir sein Leuchten,
Als ob es ein Auge wär,
Darin im Glanz, dem feuchten,
Mich grüßt' eine liebende Zähr.

O Schwesterlein, früh geschieden,
Sag, weilst du auf jenem Stern
Und blinkst mir zu in Frieden
Und tröstest mich aus der Fern?

Da kommen Wolken gezogen
Und decken den Stern mir zu.
Dein lieblich Bild ist verflogen,
Schlaf süß in ewiger Ruh.
