by Theodor Storm (1817 - 1888)

Spielmannslied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Musikanten müssen wandern;
Durch die Saiten geht der Wind;
Und er trägt die leichten Lieder
In die weite Welt geschwind.

Musikanten wollen wandern!
Schon zur Neige ging der Wein;
Ziehn die Lieder in die Weite,
Muß der Spielmann hinterdrein

Musikanten wollen wandern;
Ei, die hielte mich wohl fest!
Noch 'nen Trunk, Herr Wirt, vom Roten;
Dann ade, du trautes Nest!

Hoch das Glas! Zu neuen Liedern
Geb es Kraft und Herzenswonne!
Ha, wie lieblich in die Adern
Strömt der Geist der Heimatsonne! -
