Nicht wie die Welkenden fromm
Wollen wir beide zu Tode wallen. --
Küsse mich, komm!
 
Wolkenjagd oben in fernen Räumen!
Köstlich und wonnevoll
Ist es, die Perlen von Wein zu schäumen,
Übermutstoll.
 
Aber noch herrlicher ist's zu schlürfen
Alles in einem Zug!
Größeste Fülle, doch dem Bedürfen
Nimmer genug!
 
Laß uns das weinleere Glas zerschmettern,
Komm von dem Gipfel ins Grab
Gleich unverletzlichen ewigen Göttern
Lächelnd hinab!
