by Kōkō-tennō (830 - 887)
Translation by Paul Alfred Enderling (1880 - 1938)

Schneeglöckchen
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Japanese (日本語)
Ich habe für dich, du Liebste,
mich hundertmal gebückt
und lächelnd der Wakana
schimmernde Blüte gepflückt.
Und ist doch noch kein Frühling!
Kein Grün sonst weit und breit:
der Wind zog über die Felder,
und Schnee fiel auf mein Kleid.
