by Richard Pohl (1826 - 1896)

Regenbogen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Sängerliebe kommt gezogen
Wie ein lichter Regenbogen
Durch des Lebens Wolkengrau:
Sonne muß sie mild bescheinen,
Daß sich ihre Thränen einen
Zu dem lichten Wunderbau.

Wenn Gewitterstürme schweigen,
Siehst das Zauberbild du steigen
In der Farben Harmonie:
Suche nimmer, es zu fassen!
Mit der Sonne wird's erblassen
Und es schwand -- du weißt nicht, wie?

Confirmed with Gedichte von Richard Pohl, Weimar: Landes-Industrie-Comptoir, 1859, page 80.
