Rote Bänder!-
Mein Mädel stand
Gebeugt am Balkongeländer
Und lachte und gab mir die Hand.

Und gab mir zwei Bänder
Von Seide zart.
Ich schied und durchschritt die Länder;
Als ich wiederkam, war sie tot.
