by Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914)

Feierabend
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lindenduft ... Bienenchor ...
Vogelsang und Brunnenrauschen ...
Knarrend schließt sich Tor um Tor;
Feierabend lockt hervor,
Grüße auszutauschen.

Junges Volk will Gesang,
Fiedelspiel und kecke Reigen;
säume heute keiner lang,
sich zur Ehr und uns zu Dank
seine Kunst zu zeigen!

Einer weiß ein neues Lied,
andre freuen sich der alten;
wer von Fern zu Ferne zieht,
muss es, eh er weiterflieht,
fröhlich mit uns halten.

Düfteschwerer Dämmerflor ...
Vogelsang und Brunnenplauschen ...
Trete nun der Mensch hervor,
lasse in den großen Chor
seine Stimme rauschen!
