Elä itke impeni nuori
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Elä itke impeni nuori,
jos ystävän pettikin.
Kun pääsi mun povelleni toisit,
niin laulun ma laulaisin.

Elä itke impeni nuori,
kuin kupla on ystävyys.
Kesän kukka on kahden liitto,
sen murtavi ensi syys.

Elä itke impeni nuori,
luo lunt' yli muistojen.
On talvi viisahan aika,
sain nuorna ma oppia sen.

Elä itke impeni nuori,
elo korpien kulkua on.
Kuin äitini töllin liesi
oma lempemme olkohon.

Ei liekit ne riehuis, ei roihuis,
vain lämpöä lauhaa lois,
ja kun hiilos se hiljaa riittyis,
niin aika jo unenkin ois.

Miks itkisit impeni nuori?
Sydän kylmä se kestävi vaan.
Mun kanssani kyyneles kuivaa,
käy iltoa odottamaan.
