der Türken Wut droht uns'rer Kirche Fall;
vom Tempel stürzen sie das Kreuz herab
und frech entweih'n sie uns'res Heilands Grab.

Und du vor Allen, stürze rasch ins Feld,
du Löwe Englands, du, des Kreuzzugs Held,
o Richard Löwenherz, des Siegergang
begeistert folgt der Dichter und sein Sang,
