by Helene Raff (1865 - 1942), as Helge Heldt

Da der König gefangen war
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Lieder sind verklungen
ob tiefer Schmerzensnot,
die Laute ist zersprungen,
und auch mein Herz ist tot.

Mein König ist gefangen
in finst'rer Kerkersnacht;
zu ihm muss ich gelangen
trotz arger Feinde Macht.

Nach ihm nur fühl' ich immer
das Sehnen in der Brust;
er hört den Klang ja nimmer,
dem er gelauscht mit Lust.

Zu ihm nun muss ich eilen
wohl über Meer und Land
und will nicht eher weilen,
bis ich ihn wieder fand.
