by Victor Wilder (1835 - 1892)

Premier sourire de mai
Language: French (Français)
Au premier sourire
Du soleil de Mai,
L’air que l’on respire
S’est comme embaumé ;

Et frileux encore
D’un hiver si dur,
Le printemps arbore
Son drapeau d’azur

Le grillon s’éveille
Dans les blés fluets
Où la brune abeille
Cherche les bleuets.

Et sous les pétales
Des pavots ouverts,
Déjà les cigales
Donnent leurs concerts.

Essayant leurs ailes,
Les insectes d’or,
Vers les fleurs nouvelles
Prennent leur essor

Et tout fier d’éclore
Les papillons blancs
Nés depuis l’aurore
Vont roder aux champs

Sur la terre et l’onde,
Aux baisers du jour,
Court de par le monde
Un frisson d’amour.
