by Johann Gaudenz Freiherr von Salis-Seewis (1762 - 1834)

Ermunterung zur Freude
Language: German (Deutsch)
Kränzt das Haupt mit Immergrün,
Und mit frischen Nelken!
Pflückt die Rosen, da sie blühn,
Weil sie rasch verwelken!
Manches liebe Veilchen blüht
Noch auf unsern Wegen;
Manche Rofenwange glüht
Unserm Kuß entgegen.

Schmachtend winkt uns mancher Blick,
Winkt zu Wonne-Freuden:
Noch versüßt der Liebe Glück
Uns des Lebens Leiden.

Freundschaft heilt noch manchen Schmerz;
Ist es nicht Entzücken,
An sein liebeklopfend Herz,
Einen Freund zu drücken?

Drum will ich, so lang ich bin,
Mich des Lebens freuen,
Und mit Blüthen vor mir hin,
Meinen Pfad bestreuen.
