Un parfum triste et doux s'épanche
De la mélancolique fleur ;

Est parfois lente et sans chaleur.

Pauvres et chères violettes,
Ceux qui vous béniront toujours
Sont les amantes et les poëtes.

Souvenir vivant des beaux jours,
Comme vous allez droit à l'âme
