Le brick

Dans l'île de Montserrat il y a six jeunes filles blanches
Les douaniers savent la fraîcheur de leurs bras
Et le chemin de leur hamac entre les branches

Tandis que sous leur pas le sol tremble de fièvre à cause de sa nature volcanique
Elles trompent la soif ardente de leurs lèvres qu'exaspèrent les nuits lascives des tropiques

Chaque soir désertant les bocages de palmes
Elles se joignent sur les mornes découverts soucieuses de trop de calme
Pour de leur longe-vue interroger la mer

Un brick à l'horizon passe chargé de rhum 
il connaîtra Bordeaux les quais et les vignobles
l'estuaire de la Gironde en automne et les rives qu'un hiver rude rend plus nobles
Il connaîtra cela si les raz-de-marée ne le jettent sur les rochers de l'isthme
et si le vent s'élève à temps pour conjurer la bonace annonciatrice des cataclysmes.
